When you are first learning how to play pool,it can seem like an art.There are various ways,strategies anf ideas to learn in addition to just getting the ball into the pocket.However,you'll have so much fun you will forget all that.To start learning and hone your skills,read on.

GETTING STARTED

1.FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE EQUIPMENT:There are generally three things to familiarize with that are cue stick,table and pool balls.

2.LEARN THE LANGUAGE:In order to play the game,you have to be able to understand the terminology and rules.Familiarizing yourself with the terms of the game will make it easier and quicker to learn.

• The"break" happens at the beginning of the game when a player breaks upthe 15 pool balls.it is the first shot.some players break stright on while others break at an angle.
• 
  
• A scratch occurs when the cue ball jumps off the table or rools into a pocket.Determine the scratch rules before you start any game.
• 
  
• It is common for the player who did not receive the scratch to be allowed to place the cue ball anywhere in the "kitchen" upon their subsequent turn.This is the area between the head rail and the head string:more simply put;the area between the edge and the second set of diamonds.

3.GET THE RULES DOWN: for now,let's stick to standard 8-ball.Quite clearly,knowing the rules is the only way to win.




                                                             PLAYING THE GAME

1.MASTER THE SROKE:  Each person has a different preferred hand position.if you are right-handed,hold th base of the stick with your right hand and rest the narrow end on your left.if you are left-handed,do the opposite.                                                                                                                         

2.MAKE THE SHOTS:   line the pool tip up with the cue ball,aim and hit away!sounds easy huh?

• As a beginner,focus on hitting the cue ball straight and with power.

3.SWITCH IT UP:   Now that you have got 8-ball down,why stop there?

4.FOCUS: Always focus and keep your eye on the ball.Tune out distractions as best you can.

2.EVALUATE THE WHOLE TABLE:

TAKE YOUR TIME CHOOSING YOUR TARGET BALL.MANY PALYERS ATTEMPTS DIFFICULT SHOT BECAUSE THEY DON'T SEE A SIMPLER ONE.THE EASIEST SHOTS ARE THOSE SHOTS  WHERE THE TARGET BALL IS CLOSE TO A HOLE,AND YOUR CUE BALL HAS A CLEAR PATH TO THE TARGET BALL.

3.PICK YOUR TARGET AND AIM:

A COMPLETELY STRAIGHT SHOT INWHICH THE CUP,TARGET BALL AND CUE BALL ARE ALL LINED UPIS EASY TO AIM FOR.

4.VISUALIZE POTTING THE BALL:

AFTER YOU HAVE FOUND THE TARGET,VISUALIZE THE WHOLE PROCESS BEFORE ATTEMPTING IT.

PART-2:KNOWING HAND AND BODY PLACEMENT

1.FIND YOUR STANCE:

POSITION YOURSELF BEHIND THE CUE BALL.IF YOU ARE RIGHT HANDED ,THEN YOUR RIGHT FOOT SHOULD BE BEHIND YOU AND VICE-VERSA DIRECTLY OPPOSITE TO THE CUE STICK IS AIMING AT THE CUE BALL.

2.POSITIONING YOUR AIMING HAND:

YOUR FRONT HAND WILL CREATE A "BRIDGE" AND PROVIDE YOUR CUE STICK WITH BALANCE AS YOU DRIVE THROUGH THE SHOT.THERE ARE MULTIPLE WAY TO FORM A BRIDGE"OPEN OR V -SHAPED BRIDGE" AND "CLOSED BRIDGE"..

3.RELAX YOUR SHOOTING HAND:

IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A FIRM BUT RELAXED GRIP.AFTER YOU ARE LEARNING AGAINST THE TABLE AND YOUR AIMING  HAND IS 6-8 INCHES AWAY FROM THE CUE BALL,THE FOREARM OF YOUR SHOOTING HAND SHOULD BE ATLEAST  AT ABOUT A 90 DEGREES ANGLE FROM YOUR CUE.

PART - 3: SHOOTING THE BALL

1.COMMIT TO THE SHOT:

NOW THAT YOU ARE POSITIONED,YOU ARE READY TO MAKE THE SHOT.BE SURE TO FIRMLY DRIVE THE CUE THROUGH THE SHOT,AS OPPOSED  TO SIMPLY TAPPING THE CUE BALL WITH YOUR CUE.

2.HOLD YOUR POSITION AND FOLLOW THROUGH:

IT IS IMPORTANT TO HOLD YOUR POSITION AND KEEP YOUR BALANCEIN THE SECONDS AFTER THE SHOT .

 3.DON'T GET DISCOURAGED:
